Saturday’s Games
(2-6) Vegas Vipers at (5-3) Houston Roughnecks
(Roughnecks by 6.5 – 44 O/U) Houston rebounded with a big win last week while also clinching a playoff spot. A win this week, coupled with a Renegade loss would give them the 2023 XFL South title. Standing in their way is the very inconsistent Vipers. Well, one thing they’ve been consistent at this season is their inability to contain a lead for 60 minutes. An upset on the road is very unlikely as the Roughnecks outmatch them at nearly every skilled position. So their only hope is for Houston to overlook them this week and Houston has already learned from two weeks of underestimating opponents… Roughnecks by 17/Over.
(1-7) Orlando Guardians at (2-6) San Antonio Brahmas
(Brahmas by 1.5 – 39 O/U) Orlando did very little last week to follow up their shocking upset win over the Defenders and their defense remains a huge issue entering this contest. San Antonio has a decent shot at a playoff appearance but securing a must win at home against the worst team in the league seems a sure shot. Arlington could lose two in a row to close the season, thus the pressure is on the Brahmas to get the win at home this week. Orlando will have to rally around that pressure to get a vicious upset win on the road… Brahmas by 6/Over.
Sunday’s Games
(4-4) Arlington Renegades at (7-1) DC Defenders
(Defenders by 8.5 – 41.5 O/U) DC clinched a playoff spot last week, but they still have to contend with the BattleHawks as this season concludes. A win this week coupled with a BattleHawks loss would give the Defenders the XFL North title. Standing in their way has been the surprising Renegades who need a win to secure their own trip to the playoffs. Only issue this week is being completely outmatched and thanks to the Guardians, they can rely on the fact the Defenders won’t underestimate their remaining opponents. This game could see the largest victory margin of the season… Defenders by 20/Over.
(5-3) Seattle Sea Dragons at (6-2) St. Louis BattleHawks
(BattleHawks by 2 – 46 O/U) Both squads are playing for the right to face the Defenders in the playoffs for a trip to the 2023 XFL Championship. St. Louis’ defense has been nothing short of remarkable this season and little should change this week. Their offense can be successful, but still has suspect areas that can be exploited weekly. Seattle nearly pulled off a big upset against the Defenders, but with their loss last week, they have to go through Str. Louis to reach the playoffs. Their defense is adequate enough to stop the BattleHawks offense, but their offense is tough enough to score against St. Louis’ defense. This should be a game wide shootout, but the Sea Dragons will get more scoring opportunities and should cash in on a huge late season upset as the playoff chase comes to a close this season… Upset Special… Sea Dragons by 3/Over.
