Saturday Night Game
(0-2) Seattle Sea Dragons at (0-2) Vegas Vipers
(Sea Dragons by 3.5 – 38 O/U) Seattle is a far superior team than their 0-2 record indicates. This matchup should allow them to finally get on track and build up the chemistry and confidence they need to finally live up to the hype. Vegas has all the tools to pull off the upset, but they struggle to close out games. They play well the first 30 minutes, then they seem to disappear during the 2nd half. Seattle needs to make a statement in this contest and should succeed in getting their first win of this season… Sea Dragons by 7/Over.
Sunday Afternoon Games
(2-0) St. Louis BattleHawks at (2-0) DC Defenders
(Defenders by 2.5 – 37 O/U) Game of the Week. St. Louis is a well balanced team, primarily due to their dominant defense. Their offense can put points on the board, but does have glaring weaknesses that can be exploited. DC is also a well balanced team on both sides of the ball, but their offense can light it up on any drive. They have fewer areas to exploit on offense, but their defense has a couple of concerns. This should be a close and hard fought contest with the Defenders edging out the win in the final moments of the game… Defenders by 4/Over.
(0-2) Orlando Guardians at (1-1) Arlington Renegades
(Renegades by 8 – 37.5 O/U) Some may be a bit surprised by the 8 point spread, but Arlington has Orlando at a clear disadvantage on both sides of the ball and has home field advantage too. Orlando took age over youthful talent not only in the draft, but also in their off-season additions. Their offense is a wreck and their defense can stop opposing drives, but not for the full 60 minutes of the contest. Arlington has exploitable concerns on both sides of the ball as well, but their offense is far more balanced and productive than the Guardians’. Their defense is also more balanced and productive with lesser concerns. This could get ugly before the final gun… Renegades by 17/Over.
Sunday Night Game
(1-1) San Antonio Brahmas at (2-0) Houston Roughnecks
(Roughnecks by 4.5 – 36 O/U) Houston is our pick to win the XFL 2023 Championship and they haven’t disappointed our expectations. They have great balances on both sides of the ball and are a very talented team to defeat. San Antonio was another team we had in the running for the XFL Championship and this could be the first of two preludes to the XFL South playoff. San Antonio should be able to keep Houston on their toes in this matchup, but in the end they simply lack the talent to pull off the upset on the road. Houston’s offense is the difference maker in this game as both defenses can go the full 60 minutes, but Houston’s offense can exploit the suspect areas in the Brahmas’ defense. Despite not being the game of the week, this is still a solid prime time matchup to round off week 3 of the XFL season… Roughnecks by 6/Over.
